Hazel Gooch
Mrs. Hazel Gooch, 88, of Woodstock, died Friday, April 30, 2004 at her home. She was born in Flat Lick on June 11, 1915, the daughter of Truman and Margaret Goff Poynter. She enjoyed quilting and played piano and taught Sunday School at the Woodstock Baptist Church, where she was a member, for many years.
Survivors are her husband of 67 years, Otis Gooch; a son, Robert Gooch (Beverly) of Lexington; two daughters, Doris Ann Gooch (Bill) of Crab Orchard and Ora Lee Hurst (Donald) of Brodhead; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a special niece, Dottie Poynter and a special granddaughter and caregiver, Gina Dick. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Gooch.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 3 at the Woodstock Baptist Church with burial in the Woodstock Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Dustin Brown, Zachary Dick, Jordan Dick, Derreck Hurst, Christopher Hurst, Nicholas Leger and Jason Leger.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 108 College St., Somerset, KY 42501 or to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.
