Mr. Norman Eugene Hayes age 71, of Rt.#4 Mt.Vernon died Sunday October 3, 2004 at the Rockcastle Health & Rehabilitation Center in Brodhead. He was born on March 9, 1933 in Rockcastle County the son of the late Goble C. and Pearl Clark Hayes. He was a retired carpenter, enjoyed fishing and gardening, and was a deacon at the Buckeye Christian Church.

Survivors are: his wife; Mrs. Mary Louise Monk Hayes of Mt.Vernon. One son; Clay Stanton Hayes, and wife Glena of Conway. Two daughters; Mrs. Carol Alcorn, and husband Sam, and Mrs. Betty Weaver, and husband Steve all of Mt.Vernon. Two brothers; William Goble Hayes of Somerset, and Donald Ray Hayes of Mt.Vernon. Two sisters; Mrs. Daisy Kirby, and Mrs. Anna Pearl Kirby both of Blanchester, Ohio. Seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by four brothers, and one sister.
