Jess D. Howard
RICHMOND, Ind. -- Jess D. Howard, age 65, died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at Reid
Hospital after a short illness.
Born May 2,
1938, in Livingston, Ky., to Jess Howard and Dorothy Mullins Howard, he lived
most of his life in Richmond. Jess was the co-owner of A&D Antiques and previous
owner of Salisbury Auto Parts. He was a member and past master of Richmond
Masonic Lodge 196, member of Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, member and
past patron of Loyal Chapter 49 Order of Eastern Star, past worthy advisor to
DeMolay, member of the advisory board of Rainbow Girls and member of First
Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Gearldine (Gerry) Tyler Howard, to whom he was
married Nov. 28, 1957; one son, Jess D. (Don) Howard Jr. and his wife Anita of
New Paris, Ohio; two granddaughters, Jackie Howard of Indianapolis and Dorothy
Howard of New Paris, Ohio; one aunt, Bessie Daugherty, Richmond.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Sherrill Howard.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at Doan &
Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road W., Richmond, Ind., with Rev. Wayne Ward
officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call
from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at the funeral home, where
Masonic services will be conducted by the Richmond Masonic Lodge 196 at 7 p.m.
followed by Order of Eastern Star services conducted by Loyal Chapter 49 at 7:15
p.m.

Unit, 1401 Chester Blvd., Richmond, IN 47374.
