Orla M. Jennings
Orla M. Jennings, age 86, of Hamilton, passed away at Westover Retirement Community on Friday, June 18, 2004, at 6:50 a.m. He was born in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, on May 6, 1918, the son of Granville and Laura (Scott) Jennings. Orla was employed in the Yard Department at Champion International for 27 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Four Square Pentecostal Church and was also a Kentucky Colonel. On June 26, 1937, in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, he married Virgie Furmon.
He is survived by his wife, Virgie Jennings; one son, Larry Jennings; two grandchildren, Chris Jennings and Wendy Broughton and her husband Randy, all of Hamilton; four great-grandchildren, Devin, Adrian, Christopher Jr. and Kaiella; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dewey Eddie Jennings.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. James Haney, Pastor of Four Square Pentecostal Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. |
