Mr. Earl Wayne Lunsford, age 62 of Rt. 4 Mt. Vernon, died Tuesday, Apr. 20 at the Rockcastle Hospital. He was born in Rockcastle County on July 21, 1941 the son of James Douglas and Martha Rector Lunsford. He was a retired explosives operator for the Bluegrass Army Depot and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed watching Nascar racing and being with his family. He was of the Holiness faith.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Christine Jones Lunsford; one son, Roger Dale Lunsford (Angelia) of Mt. Vernon; one daughter, Brenda Gail Todd (Allen) of Berea; four brothers, Therland Lunsford of Brodhead, James Lunsford (Lisa) of Ohio, Randall Lunsford (Melody) of Danville, and Armel Paul Lunsford (Cheryl) of Georgia; and one sister, Tressa Adams (Jimmy) of Junction City. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Devin Lee Todd and Jonathan Spencer Todd; and two children that were like grandchildren, Dylan Wayne Nicely and Tanner James Nicely. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Melba Lunsford and Doris Lunsford.
