The Harrodsburg Herald - January 14, 1999 Harvey McFerron Harvey Lee McFerron, 103, of Mt. Vernon, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, January 10, 1999 at the Rockcastle Hospital. He was born in Rockcastle County on June 4, 1895, the son of John and Rebecca Barnes McFerron. He was a retired truck driver and merchant and was a member of the Northside Baptist Church. Survivors include: three sons, Estel (Zelma) McFerron, Mt. Vernon, Ronald (Ruby) McFerron, Mt. Vernon, Lester (Evelyn) McFerron, Cincinnati, OH; four daughters, Rissie Newman, Cincinnati, OH; Lorene (George) Rowe, West Chester, OH, Lucy Durham, Mt. Vernon, Louella French, Pine Hill; one sister, Melissa Mink, Orlando, KY; 50 grandchildren, 132 great grandchildren, 116 great great grandchildren and six great great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Corda McFerron, his second wife, Nona McFerron, and three sons, Paul, William, and Mitchell McFerron. Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 12, at the Dowell and Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, by Bro. Lester Caldwell. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. |
