Mrs. Maudie Ethel McFerron, age 79 of Brodhead, died Wednesday, Jan. 28 at the Rockcastle Hospital. She was born in Rockcastle County on May 12, 1924 the daughter of John Harvey and Nellie Arlene Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bandy Church of Christ.

She is survived by a sister, Anna Tyler of Mt. Vernon. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jason Shivel; her second husband, Ted Mink; a daughter, Effie Arlene Shivel, and three infant children; a stepson, Floyd Mink; five brothers, two sisters, two half-brothers; and one half-sister.
