Mr. Denver Miller, age 67 of Rt. 4 Mt. Vernon, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003 at the Rockcastle Hospital. He was born in Rockcastle County on Mar. 31, 1936 the son of Walter and Delia Bullock Miller.

He was a retired three term Circuit Court Clerk for Rockcastle County and at the time of his death, he was the Administrative Assistant to the Administrative Office of the Court. He was active in all aspects of community service and was very instrumental in the establishment of the Rockcastle Ambulance Service. He was also a member of the Hickory Grove Pentecostal Church.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Mattie McFerron Miller; one son, James Miller (Dee Ann) of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Teresa VanZant (Lonnie) of Mt. Vernon, and Pennie House (Mike) of Nicholasville; one brother, Walter Miller, Jr. of Brodhead; one sister, Ida Whitson of Brodhead; and four stepchildren David and Lorna Creech of Hollister, MO, Renita and Tim Kelly of Nicholasville, KY, Denise and Tim Blevins of Glades Spring, VA, and Manuel Creech of Mt. Vernon. Also surviving are eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Glenna Miller; his parents; five brothers; and four sisters.
