Ms. Christa Lynne Phelps, age 17, of Orlando, Ky. departed this life June 14, 2004.

She was born on Jan. 24, 1987 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Richard Carl Phelps and Vicki Lynne Partin Hayes. She was an employee of Wendy's Restaurant of Mt. Vernon. She was a member of Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed writing and reading; and "frogs". She was a member of the Rocket Club, Y-Club, the Journalism Club and a senior at Rockcastle High School.

Those left to mourn her passing include her parents, Richard Carl Phelps and Vicki Lynne Partin Hayes; her maternal grandparents-Ira and Mildred Partin of Orlando, Ky; her paternal grandparent- Shirley Phelps; and a sister-Samantha Jo Hayes; as well as a host of aunts/uncle, cousins/friends and neighbors.

Christa was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather-Jonah Phelps.
