Mr. Clayton B. Ponder age 90, of West Main St. Mt.Vernon died Monday September 20, 2004 at the Rockcastle Health & Rehabilitation Center in Brodhead. He was born on September 7, 1914 in Livingston, Ky. the son of the late W.H. and Flora Carpenter Ponder. He was retired from the Bluegrass Ordinance, was a history buff, a Marine Veteran of WWII, a member of the Marine Corp League, and a member of the Livingston Christian Church.

Survivors are: one son; C.C. Ponder, and his wife Mary of Mt.Vernon. One sister; Mrs. Ana Rhodus of Florence, Ky.. One grandson; Brian Ponder, and his wife Jennifer of Rt.#1 Mt.Vernon. Two great grandchildren; Logan, and Emily Ponder. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by: his wife; Mrs. Lucille Noe Ponder, by six brothers; Keith, Lyman, Truman, Bill, Cline, and Brown, and by two sisters; Una & Hallie.
