June 1996 LANCASTER - The funeral for Doreen Ray, 75, of 109 Hillcrest Ave. will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Revs. Bob Kiper and Albert Griffin. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery. She died Thursday at her home.
Born May 17, 1921, in Rockcastle County, she was a daughter of the late Cleveland and Martha Jane Helton Simpson. She the widow of Cecil "Shine" Ray. She was a retired seamstress at the old Palm Beach plant in Danville, where she worked for 36 years, and a member of Forks of Dix River Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Charles McEldred of Lexing-ton; a sister, Addie Norris of Brodhead; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Billy Ray, Lanny Ray, Millard Allen, John Dale Helton, John Dale Sowder and Don Penix.
Honorary pallbearers will be Preston Nunnelly and Kenneth Hopkins. |
