Howard Rowlett
Howard Rowlett age 87 of
Hillcrest Dr. Berea died Saturday Dec. 6, 2003 at the St. Joseph Hospital
in Lexington. Howard was born in Rockcastle County to the late Roy and Ann
Croucher Rowlett. Howard was a carpenter, and a member of the Bethel
Baptist Church.
Howard is survived by his wife
Evelyn Halcomb Rowlett of Berea, 3 children: James (Betty) Rowlett,
Charles (Ann) Rowlette, and Virgil (Jakie) Rowlette all of Berea. 4 step
children: Joan (David) Hammons, Karen (Charlie) Durham, Pam (Bobby)
Childress, Jerry (Janet) Burke. 4 brothers Alonzo and Jesse Rowlette of
Berea. Herbert, Roy Edmond Rowlette of Lawrenceburg, IN. 2 sisters Rachel
Baker of Berea and Hester Ratliff of Lawrenceburg, IN. 6 grandchildren and
10 great grandchildren. Howard was preceded in death by the mother of his
children Ruth Calico Rowlett, 3 brothers and 2 sisters Preston, Lawrence,
Junior, Bessie and Hazel.
Funeral services will be
Tuesday Dec. 9, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lakes Funeral Home, with Rev.
Randy McPheron officiating and burial in the Berea Cemetery. Pallbearers
will be David Rowlette, Scott Rowlette, Stacy Rowlette, Timmy Decker,
Donald Jeffery Decker, and Jeff Grant. Honorary bearers are granddaughters
Sharon Decker, Kelly Scrivner, Melanie Rowlette Grant, Paul Coomer,
Raymond Harris, Jerry Burke, and Matthew Rowlette. Visitation will be
Monday Dec. 8, 2003 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Lakes Funeral Home. |
