Mrs. Mary Simpson age 78, of Crab Orchard died Tuesday February 3, 2004 at the Rockcastle Hospital. She was born on April 10, 1925 in Lincoln County the daughter of the late Irvin and Nancy Bishop Burdine Farris. She was a homemaker, enjoyed cooking & gardening, and was a member of the Ottawa Baptist Church.

Survivors are: One son; Thomas Simpson, and wife Linda of Crab Orchard. Two daughters; Mrs. Barbara Broughton, and husband Noah of Crab Orchard. Mrs. Jealetta Robert, and husband Ken of Crab Orchard. Two brothers; George Burdine of Crab Orchard, and Genis Burdine of Brodhead. Two sisters; Mrs. Maetta Smith, and Mrs. Edna Smallwood both of Indianapolis, Ind. Six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by: her husband; Tom Simpson, by five brothers; Elsie Bishop, Houston, Frank, James Burdine, and one infant brother. By two sisters; Betty Simpson, and Roberta Stevens.
