Donald E. Smith

Donald E. Smith, age 66, of Hamilton, passed away at his residence on Monday, December 29, 2003, at 12:15 a.m. He was born in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, on July 7, 1937, the son of William Tipton Smith and Gladys (Northern) Smith. Donald was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict and a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. A self-employed carpenter, he was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Donna Smith of Hamilton; Donna’s mother Janice Smith of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Ben Smith of Kentucky, Mario Campos, Don Campos and Joseph Campos, all of Hamilton; two brothers, Jack and Robert Smith, both of Kentucky; two sisters, Olivia Miller and Deleuania Spencer of Maryland. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a sister.

Funeral service will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery Chapel on Friday, January 2, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the cemetery chapel on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Brown Dawson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
