Rockcastle Kentucky paper, "Mount Vernon Signal"; Mrs. Losa Odel Kirby Stokes,
103, of Pittman St. in Mt. Vernon, died Friday, October 26th at the Rockcastle
Hospital. She was born in Rockcastle County on March 9, 1898, the daughter of
Sylvester and Maggie Doan Kirby. She lived in Harlan most of her life. She was a
homemaker and was a founding member of the Mt. Vernon church of God. She is
survived by: two sons, M. V. Stokes and wife Susie of Mt.. Vernon and Ernest
Stokes of Ages, Ky.; a sister, Pearl Newton of Toledo, Oh.; two half-brothers,
Ray Kirby and Coy Kirby, both of Livingston; one half-sister, Vivian Kirby of
Paducah; 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and 25 great great
grandchildren. |
