3-02-1991: Katie Renner Swinney died. Rockcastle County, Kentucky news article, "Mount Vernon Signal," obit dated 3-07-1991, follows; Mrs. Katie Renner, 95, of Mt. Vernon died March 2, 1991 at the Rockcastle Hospital after a long illness. She was born on Aug. 2, 1895 in Rockcastle County, the daughter of Joe and Eva Dixon Swinney. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Pentecostal Church. Survivors are a son, Lee Renner of Mt. Vernon, and one daughter, Mrs. Vennie Herrin of Mt. Vernon; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and seven great, great, grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Renner. Services were held March 5 at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eddie Hammond officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Brown, E. B. Brown, George Renner, Glenn Renner, Orville Renner, and Paul Dailey. |
