Mrs. Ada Elizabeth Thacker, age 77 of Rt. 3 Mt. Vernon, died Tuesday, June
8 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. She was born in Garrard
County on Oct. 17, 1926 the daughter of James Luther and Cordie Marlow
Brooks. She was a retired cook for the Rockcastle County School System
having served for over 20 years and was an active member of the
Roundstone Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Bert Thacker; three sons, David
Thacker (Carolyn), Jesse Thacker (Sharon), and Jimmy Thacker (Vickie),
all of Rt. 3 Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Brenda Chappell (Donald) of Rt.
3 Mt. Vernon, and Joy Callahan of Mt. Vernon; two brothers, Bill Brooks
of Copper Creek, and James Brooks of Stanford; and four sisters,
Catherine Pingleton and Thursie Carpenter, both of Lancaster, Mary
Thacker of Paint Lick, and Gladys Laws of Richmond. Also surviving are
nine grandchildren, Stephanie McCauley, Stacey Thacker, Dana Bullock,
Jessica Thacker, Donald Chappell, Angela Wyatt, Hershel Callahan II,
Christy Carr, and James Thacker; and six great grandchildren, Brent
Callahan, Samantha Callahan, Andrew Callahan, Kristofer Carr, Maranda
Carr, and Michael McCauley. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law,
Herhsel Callahan; two sisters; and one brother. |
