Artie Mae Norton Thompson, 55, Hwy 70, Brodhead, wife of Clinton Thompson, died Saturday, July 19, 2003 as a result of an automobile accident.
Mrs. Thompson was born March 8, 1948 in Somerset, the daughter of Walter Dee and Nancy Jane McKinney Norton. She was a member of the Providence Church of Christ, enjoyed old movies, her grandchildren and the church. She was an employee of American Greeting Card Co. in Danville,
On June 11, 1966, she was united in holy matrimony to Clinton Thompson and from that union came two children.
Besides her husband of 37 years, those left to mourn her passing are a son, Mark and fiancée, Nikki Durham of Brodhead; a daughter, Tammy Miracle and friend; Joseph Johnson of Lancaster; two brothers, Wallace Keith Norton (Velma) of Somerset and Walter Howard Norton (Etta) of Brookfield, Ohio; two sisters, Oma Allene Vaught of Eubank and Thelma Nadean Woodall (Henry) of Brodhead; three grandchildren and a step grandchild.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Bernice Norton.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 22 at Providence Church of Christ with Danny McKibben officiating. Burial was in the Providence Cemetery.
Casket bearers were: Jerry Vaught, Bobby Vaught, Garry Norton, Mike Miracle, Granville Graves, Steve Bradley.
Marvin E. Owens Home of Funerals in Brodhead was in charge of arrangements.
