Virgie Warren

RICHMOND, Ind. -- Virgie Warren, age 82, of Richmond, Ind., died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at Reid Hospital.

She was born in Rockcastle County, Ky., Feb. 18, 1922, to John Marion Newcomb and Sally Milburn Newcomb and had been a resident of Richmond since 1941.

Mrs. Warren retired in 1972 from ALCOA and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, William R. Fields of Richmond; three daughters, Donna J. Bowers and her husband Royce of Richmond, Joyce L. Holt and her husband Elmer of Richmond, and Phyllis M. Kaucher and her husband David of Richmond; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her dog, Sammy.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank A. Hitchel; her second husband, Robert R. Warren; one brother, William Earl Newcomb; and one grandson, Eric Kaucher.

Funeral service for Virgie Warren will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road W., Richmond, Ind. Rev. Lester Maples will officiate. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
