From the Mt. Vernon Signal: Nellie Virginia Wilmott, 85, of Level Green Road,
Brodhead, died Sunday, August 13, 2000, at Charleston Health Care in Danville. She was
born on March 31, 1915, in Rockcastle County, the daughter of the late Wilkerson and
Martha Hoskins Thompson. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading and
was a member of the Maretburg Baptist Church.
Survivors are two daughters, Bobbie Durham and husband, Bentley of Brodhead and
Grace Kathryn Elder and husband, Pete of WappingersFall, New York; six grandchildren,
Sheryl Smith and husband, Harold, Brian Durham and wife, Kelley, Beth Saylor and
husband, Seth, Michael Miracle and wife, Ellen, Jay Miracle and Dana Elder; two step
grandchildren; five great grandchildren, Jonathan Bradley, Stephanie Angel and husband
Jamie, Ben Durham, Deanna Durham, Caitlin Miracle and five step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wilmott.
Services were Wednesday, August 16, at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don
Cummings and Bro. Raymond Offutt officiating. Burial was in the Maretburg Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Maretburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bentley Durham, Brian Durham, Seth Saylor, Harold Smith, Jonathan
Bradley and Jamie Angel.
