Mrs. Rissie Wright age 102, of 70 Owens St. Mt.Vernon died Thursday September 23, 2004 at the Rockcastle Hospital. She was born on September 15, 1902 in Rockcastle County the daughter of the late Dee and Maggie Owens Ramsey. She was a homemaker, enjoyed quilting, tatting, cooking, and traveling. She taught Sunday School several years, and was the oldest member of the First Baptist Church where she was a charter member.

Survivors are: two daughters; Mrs. Irene Farris of Mt.Vernon, and Mrs. Audrey Hamm of Rt.#1 Brodhead. One foster brother; Jones Dempsey Ramsey Jr. of Mt.Vernon. Two grandchildren; James Shannon Franklin, and Vall Martin Franklin. Nine great grandchildren; Melissa, Hillary, Vall Roy, Jacob, Maggie, Valerie, Sybil, Charles, and Jeremy. Three great great grandchildren; Caroline, Mike, and John Henry also survive. She was preceded in death by: her husband; Vall G. Wright, by one daughter; Wanda Franklin, by one granddaughter; Carla Baker Mink, by four son-in-laws; R.H. Hamm, Carl Baker, Ed Farris, and Shannon Franklin.
