Funeral services for Mary Lorene Bruce, 89, of Spottsville, Ky., were conducted on March 1, 2003, at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home in Henderson, Ky.
Rev. Herbert Poison officiated the services. Burial followed in Siloam Cemetery in Trigg County.

Mrs. Bruce died on February 24 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

Mrs. Bruce was a member of Spottsville United Methodist Church and worked at Spottsville Elementary School as the cafeteria manager for many years. She was an avid quilter, she crocheted, and cooked. She also loved animals.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon O. Bruce.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda A. Bruce of Spottsville, Ky., and Mary Catherine "Susie" Tanner of Newburgh, Ind.; two sons, Leon J. Bruce of Spottsville, Ky., and Owen D. Bruce of Crossville, Tenn.; a sister, Jeralene Dixon-Pruitt of Henderson, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made to Spottsville United Methodist Church and St. Anthony's Hospice.
