JOHN D. MARQUESS DIES IN DETROIT NOVEMBER 1
1943

John Dewey Marquess, son of the late William and Mary Piercy Marquess, died of meningitis on November 1 at Keiffer Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.  The remains were brought to Trigg county and burial was made at the Siloam Cemetery on November 4 with Rev. Mc Dowell officiating.  The deceased was born in 1898 in Caldwell county, near Cobb and he lived most of his life in Trigg and adjoining counties.  He was twice married the first wife was Miss Meddie Thompson who passed away about fifteen years ago.

 Two sons, Karle and Kenneth were born to this union.  He later married Miss Alma Sanders and to this union were born three sons, Bobby, John Jr. and William, the latter died in infancy.

There survive his wife, four sons, three sisters, Mrs. W. S. Martin, Mrs. Howard Precott and Mrs. Oscar Gray all of Caldwell county.  Mr. Marquess was a member of the Siloam Methodist Church.
