1826 Aug. 1st-To paid to the order of Mrs. Thornton the widow in favor of Lewis Thornton for four hundred dollars which ought to have been credited to me at this date on my last settlement with the County Court but was not and which with the interest up to March first 1828. The date of my last settlement with the County Court amounts to four hundred and sixty-two dollars and which ought to be taken from the ball and against one on said last settlement and now charged to the estate leaving the balance against me of $2158.00 as will be seen credited to the estate.-$462.00

By the balance against me as appears on my settlement of this state with the County Court after deducting four hundred and sixty two dollars which ought then to have been credited to me being a payment to the widow on her order to Lewis Thornton dated August 1825 and which with its interest to this date was improperly to me and leaves the proper balance against me of $2138.00 at my last settlement with the County Court.

Thornton Administrator the sum of twenty one hundred and thirty eight dollars as is stated in the foregoing account. Witness my hand and seal this seventeenth day of March eighteen hundred and thirty one.

We the suboinbrs(?) have stated and settled the amounts of Jn. R. Thornton Administrator of Walker Thornton dec’d as annisad(?) and find in the hands of the said administrator the sum of twenty one hundred and forty one dollars forty three cents. The administrator in this case named any claims for compensation for his services. On reference to the report in the last settlement, it shows a balance against the administrator as being two dollars less than the amount assumed on this account, which makes the balance now in the hands of said administrator twenty one hundred and thirty nine dollars and forty three cents. The Distributors resident in this county __ noted in writing which accompanies this with the vouchers.

Given under our hands this sixth day of June 1836
