He was a life-long dairy man a nd a ret ired school bus driver of 36 years for the North Harrison a nd Mor gan TWP S chools. He was a member of the Central Barren United Meth odist C hurch, pa st president of the Harrison Co. Farm Bureau, a memb er of Linco ln Hil ls RC & D, and a member of the Harrison Co. Parks Boar d. He serv ed the la st 31 years on the Milk Promotion Services of Indian a. He w as a current su pervisor of the Soil & Water District. He was prec ed ed in death by his par ents, John B. and Sarah (Hadix) Watts; and two b rot hers, Gordon and Charl es Watts. He is survived by his wife of 52 year s, E rma Blankenship Watt s; two sons, William Jr. (Sally) Watts of Greenv ill e, IN and John (Conni e) Watts of Lost Creek, KY; two daughters, Don na Je an Harney of Greenvill e, IN and Sarah Watts-Leath of Indianapoli s, IN; o ne brother, Aaron (Dori s) Watts of Greenville, IN; one sister, L ena Mae ( Wayne) Watts of Greenvil le, IN; eight grandchildren; two great- grand-chil dren; and a host of fami ly and friends. JACKSON, Ky. (AP) - Two people were killed when a fire swept through a ho me in eastern Kentucky this morning. State police say 48-year-old Kenny S tamper of Dry Ridge and
56-year-old Alfred Combs Junior were killed when the fire broke out arou nd 3 a.m. in the Canoe community of Breathitt County. Two other peop le in the house were able to escape the flames. A neighbor, Donald Turne r, was able to pull 33-year-old Debbie Bach from the house. Dexter Howar d, who was also in the house at the time of the fire, walked out of the ho use before the fire spread.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Officials said they be lieve the fire was accidental.

She was the daughter of Kelly Stamper and Chloe Morgan Stamper. She is survived by her husband, William Bob Owen; daughter Carmen Owen; sisters Ethel Joyce Collins, Brenda Watters, Gail Franks, and Sharon K. Lewis; brothers James Edward Stamper and Charles David Stamper and a host of family and friends.
Arrangements were handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard where the family received friends on Monday, September 21 with the funeral service following with Darrell Cornett officiating. Interment was at Francis Branch Cemetery located at Jeff. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Spicer
Edward Spicer, 59, of Versailles, formerly of Louisa, husband of Wilma Spicer, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, at the Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington, after a long illness.
The son of the late Granville and Florence Alda Spicer, he was affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and was most recently a member of Versailles Baptist Church. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Louisa. He worked as 4-H agent in Lawrence County, and had a 16-year career at Marrowbone Coal Company. He also taught at Breathitt County High School, Lawrence County High School, Franklin County, Woodford County, and the Methodist Children's Home in Versailles. He also was a substitute bus driver for Bluegrass Tours. He had been active in various civic organizations, including the Jaycees of Jackson, the Rotary Club of Louisa, and Gideons International, and was a member of the Three Rivers Hospital board of trustees in Louisa. He served with the Kentucky National Guard, was a Kentucky Wildcat fan, and followed high school sports very closely, attending more than 30 consecutive Boys' Sweet Sixteen state tournaments.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Kevin, Lexington; a sister, Lila Jean Smith, Union; two brothers, Jeffrey, Northern Kentucky, and Donnie, Union; aunts and uncles Amy and James Fugate, Canoe, Laura and Oscar Derickson, Florida, Alma Turner, Canoe, Mary Lou Sebastian, Somerset, Claude and Rosie Sebastian, South Carolina, and James and Margaret Sebastian, Cincinnati, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A brother, Robert Spicer, is deceased.
Services were conducted Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Watts Funeral Home Chapel, Jackson, by Bro. Ric Frazier. Burial was in the Ned Spicer Cemetery at Canoe. Family members served as casket bearers.
