GENERAL AFFIDAVIT.
STATE OF Kentucky
COUNTY OF Clinton
In the matter of Widows Pension Claim No. of Sarah Brown widow of Eli Brown, Private, Co. H, 13th KY. Volunteers Calvary. On this 3 day of October 1884, personally came Claborn Borwn, Eliza J. Brown, citizens of Seventy Six, Clinton County, KY., who being duly sworn according to law declare in relation to aforesaid case as follows:
That they were well and personally acquainted with Eli Brown, the above named soldier and his wife Sarah Brown. The above named claimant for more than fifteen years before the late war and know from having lived in the same neighborhood with said Eli Brown and Sarah Brown. That they were married
husband and wife and continued to live together as same and were so recognized as such on from the date of said marriage until said Eli Brown died on or about 24th day of May 1869. They further declare they were personally present at the death and burial of said soldier and to their personal knowledge he died of Lung Disease and at said date.
They further declare they knew Brown to be a sound able bodied man when he entered the service and free from any symptoms of lung disease; and that they know from personal knowledge that said Brown was suffering from a severe cough and lung disease when he returned home from the Army in Jan.
1865 and that he never saw a well day afterward but died of said disease on or about May 24, 1869 as stated above.
They further declare they have no interest whatever in said claim and are not concerned in its prosecution.

Sworn to and subscribed before me this day by above named affiant, Claborn Brown, and I certify that the above affidavit was read over and was fully made known to affiant before he executed same. I further certify affiant is personally known to me and that he is entitled to full faith
and credit and I further certify I have no interest in this claim given under my hand this April 9th, 1884.
