of November, 1887, at Seventy Six, County
of Clinton,
State of Kentucky, before me, W. H. Egleton a Special Examiner
of the Pension Office, personally appeared Mrs. Temperance Marlow ~,
who being by me first duly sworn to answer truly all interrogatories propounded
to her during
this Special Examination of aforesaid Pension Claim, deposes and says: :
her age is 78, P. O. Cartwright, Clinton County, Ky., Occupation -
Sewing.
I have known Sarah Brown ever since she was a girl, but I don’t know what
date or year she was married to Eli Brown. I was not present at the wedding.
I don’t know when Eli Brown’s first wife died. And I can’t
tell you the date of his death.
I don’t know how many children the client had by Eli Brown but I know when
one of their children was born, as I was present at its birth.
I was present at the birth of Susanah Brown, daughter of Eli and
Sarah Brown and said child was born June 2nd 1854 and she was
born right at this
place.
My daughter, Ellen, was born December 23rd, 1853 and Susanah Brown
was born the June following.
It is by the birth of my child, Ellen, that I fix the date of birth
of Susanah Brown.
I am not related to
