Feb. 7th 1885

Seventy Six, Clinton Co. Ky.

Honorable O. P. G. Clark, Commissioner Pensions,

Sir,

In reply to your inquiry as for the standing for truth of Claborn Brown, Eliza J. Brown and Sally Simpson, I no them well to be entitled to full faith and credit. And as to G. H. Piercey I answer to that name my self.

And I noe that Eli Brown was very sick when we was mustered out of the service 1865, and we left him in the hospital when we started home and he had been sick for some time and that he was never well any more until his death. We was both in the same company, slept together and eat together during our time of service. I am in no way related to claimant and have no interest in the case. The general sentiment of the community is that he has a very meritorious claim.

Very Respectfully G. H. Piercey P. O. Seventy Six, Kentucky
