Hello. I have hit a brick wall with my 4x great grandmother, Zerilda Jane Carr. She was born in 1828. She married John Ervin Rose on April 1, 1849 in Gallatin County. They had 2 children. One being Mary Hannah. Then she disappears. John Ervin Rose remarried in 1856 to Eliza Jane Barker. I can’t find Zerilda again anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Angela Sapp , angela74@hofnetinc.com.

I am still researching the Jacob P. Howard family from Maryland to Gallatin Co. in the late 1820's. He came with Leonard Howard, b. 1776, who was old enough to be his father but not proven. Any help proving this would be very appreciated! Thanks, Carolyn Gober, gobercarolyn@aol.com

Posted 09/19/2016 Surname: Batts/Butler Indenture
I would much appreciate thoughts from anyone who might have
information on how to obtain a copy of an Indenture/Deed between a Mr. Batts and
a Mr
Butler. This Indenture would be dated circa 1820 and is needed for genealogical
research. I know it exists but have not yet obtained a certified copy of it.
(I have only seen a typewritten facsimile of the Indenture.) Thank you, Anne E

I am researching James P. and Mariah/Maria (Brown) Landrum, who married ca 1825 and lived in Gallatin County, KY. from at least 1826, until their deaths. I am seeking to obtain their burial information. James P. died after the 1870 census when the family was living in Warsaw. Mariah/Maria died sometime after the 1880 census, when she (a widow) was living in Napoleon. Any further information about this couple, would be greatly appreciated. Posted 04/14/2014 Surname: Groves/Swango
This is related to my ggrandfather Noah Groves. I know he was born in Grant County Ky in 1858. His family relocated to Estill County for a number of years and then eventually came to Gallatin. Noah married my ggrandmother Candice Swango who grew up in Gallatin County. This was his 2nd marriage and first for Candice. They had one son who was Lawrence Groves. I have found out some info on the Swango family but when it comes to Noah's I come to a "brick wall." Noah died in 1959 at the home of Lawrence on Johnson Road. He is buried at Oakland Baptist cemetery on Johnson Road. He had other children from his 1st marriage. I have a newspaper clipping stating that Samuel Groves was his father and Armedia Groves was his mother. I can not find any docs proving this. If anyone has any info on this please contact me. Thanks, Christine Groves Francis, crfrancis@fuse.net
Posted 03/20/2014 Surname: Thomas (If you research this family name, please read this post)
While cleaning out my
Dad's house recently, we came across a collection of papers that belonged to
Katherine Wilson Thomas (1903-1989) who lived in Glencoe. She married Robert
Thomas who was the son of Maude Price and Robert P. Thomas who was a prominent
doctor in the Gallatin, Owen and Grant County area. It is a large collection of
postcards, letters and other documents. There are letters and postcards from
WWII as well as a WWI Volunteer Medical Service Corp. certificate belonging to
Robert P. Thomas. We are not related to this family. I don't believe that Robert
and Katherine had any children. I would like to hear from anyone who may be
related to this family. I would like to pass this wonderful collection of papers
along to a family relation. Please contact Karen Frans,

Looking for information on William Eaton 1773-1817 died in
Gallatin Co KY. wife Nancy Ann Bryan 1774-1860 (she is buried in Marion Co
Indiana) They came from Frederick MD (date unknown) His father is believed to be
William Eaton 1752-1777 and may be buried in Gallatin Co mother was Ann Dayley
1752-1775. One post says William & Nancy Ann were married
5/19/1793 in Frederick MD. I am suspicious of the dates showing the senior
William dying in KY in 1777, several years before they were married in Frederick
MD .... looking for more history on when they came to KY and any information
