Cave Springs Cemetery

Directions: From Greenville take Highway 62 West. Turn left on Highway 189 South. Go 5.1 miles to Highway 1473, turn left onto 1473, and go 0.9 mile. Church and cemetery are on the lefthand side of the road.

The first person buried in the cemetery was Cynthia Jane Phillips who told family members she wanted to be buried by the steps to the old church.

There were three infant graves marked at one time with sandstone markers: two, at the edge of the cemetery under some trees, are believed to be Bryant infants. Another is with the graves of Wm. Norvel Sherrod, Charles K. Sherrod, Myrtle Dukes Sherrod, and Paul E. Sherrod on the first row of the cemetery.

There are 21 veterans: Sherrill Barnes, Howard Browning, M.C. Browning, Lonnie Crowell, Ernest Dukes, J.L. Dukes. Bruce Ebling, Lonnie Ebling, Finis R. Edwards, Arthur Ray Jones, Aden Knight, Arthur Knight, Guy Lee, R.L. Lile, Raymond Gaithel Peterson, Charles Phillips, James Phillips, Ira Roark, Thurman Sadler, Ronald Eugene Wells, and Arvil West.
