Central City - Alma Louise Smith, 72, of Central City, died Thursday, May 31, 1990, at Humana Hospital-Audubon, Louisville. She was born in Muhlenberg County, was a retired bookkeeper for Smith Brothers Supply Co. in Central City, and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Central City.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Smith; a son, Mason Smith of Richmond; a daughter, Martha Johnson of Burkesville; and two sisters, Mary F. Simpson and Margaret Kelly, both of Central City.
Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at Tucker Funeral Home, Central City.
Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Central City. Visitation after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Central City Library.
Central City - Mrs. Almeda Daniel Smith, 68, of Central City, died yesterday at Muhlenberg County Hospital. Born June 18, 1906, in Marshall County, she was a member of the First Christian Church, the American Legion and Auxiliaries and the Rebeccas of Central City.
Surviving are a son, Hugh Vernon Smith, Livermore; and a daughter, Mrs. Gorman Phillips, Central City; five grandchildren and three great-grandddaughters.

Central City - Bertha Mae Smith, 81, Central City, died Sunday at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital, Greenville. A native of Muhlenberg County, she was a member of Cherry Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Smith, Chicago; three daughters, Retha Harper, Henderson; Bonita Russ, Evansville, and Dorothy Rice, Central City; two sisters, Betty Slinker, Powderly, and Delilah Moore, Central City; 28 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Central City - Charles Woodburn Smith, 83, of Central City died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. He was born in Muhlenberg County and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Central City for 72 years. He was a veteran of World War II, a former owner of Smith Brothers Supply Co. for 45 years and former director of First National Bank in Central City.
Survivors include a son, Mason Smith of Richmond; a daughter, Martha Johnson of Louisville; and four grandchildren.

Drakesboro, Ky. - Charlie Casher Smith, 83, of Drakesboro died Thursday at Muhlenberg Community Hospital, Greenville. He was a veteran of World War I, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He also was a retired coal miner, bus driver and funeral direction.
Survivors include his wife, Leslie Shively Smith; two daughters, Leslie Charlene Tucker of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Patricia Robinson of Paducah; four grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Smith of Drakesboro and Willie Smith of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters, Bertha Gillum and Lillian Johnson, both of Evansville, Ind.

Central City - Clarence Roy (Skeeter) Smith, 74, of Route 2, Central City, died Wednesday at his home. Born in Butler County, he was a retired miner.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Zora Smith; a son, Clarence Ray Smith, Central City; a daughter, Margorie Smith, at home; two grandchildren; a brother, Pyrtle Smith, Central City, and two sisters, Mrs. Zella Hearld and Mrs. Lela Willis, both of Leitchfield.

Drakesboro - Mrs. Essie Smith, 81, died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the home of her brother Isom Metcalfe, with whom she resided for the past three months.
She was a member of St. Paul's AME Zion Church where she served as deaconess and a member of the Missionary Society. She was also a member of the Deboarh Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, No. 25, at Beaver Dam.
Surviving are one brother, Isom Metcalfe of Beaver Dam; one step-daughter, Mrs. Stella Saulsberry of Greenville; and several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Final rites of the Deborah Chapter will be held at Bibbs Funeral Home at 7 p.m. today. Services will be held at St. Paul AME Zion Church in Drakesboro at 3 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. M.C. Jones, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery in Drakesboro.

Drakesboro - Frank Scott Smith, 76, died at 2:40 p.m. Sunday at the Brooks Memorial Hospital in Hopkinsville after a long illness. He was a member of the St. Paul AME Zion Church of Drakesboro.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Carrie Dunlap Smith of Drakesboro; six brothers; four sisters; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the St. Paul AME Zion Church with the Rev. M. C. Jones, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the West End Cemetery at Greenville.
The body is at the Bibbs Funeral Home, Greenville, where friends may call between the hours of 2 p.m. - 10 p.m. Wednesday. The body will be removed to the church at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Drakesboro - James R. Smith, 84, died at his home in Drakesboro Sunday.
He was a retired miner, a member of St. Paul AME Zion Church and a member of Mt. Aarat Lodge, Central City.
He is survived by one son, Robert, of Indianapolis; one daughter, Mrs. Naomi Trueheart, of Glencoe, Ill.; and three sisters, Mrs. Esther Nall, Mrs. Virginia Towns, and Mrs. Emma Lee Brown, all of Los Angeles.
Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at St. Paul AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Alverna Bard officiating. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery. Friends may call at the Bibbs Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Thursday.
Greenville - Services for Mrs. John O. Smith, 66, who died Sunday in Pontiac, Mich., will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Wylie's Chapel United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Odell Leigh, with burial in the church cemetery.

Central City - Louise Smith, 90, of Chicago, formerly of Central City, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, at St. James Hospice in Chicago. She was born in Kentucky and retired as a clerk from a dry cleaners. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Smith.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Smith and Jim Smith, both of Chicago; a daughter, Brenda McFadden of Chicago; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, James Dennis; and several nephews and nieces.
Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City.
Central City - Mrs. Mabel Render Smith, 74, widow of the late John Render, died at 2 p.m. Friday at the Memorial Hospital, Hopkinsville.
Born Oct. 14, 1895, at South Carrollton, she was a retired teacher and had taught in Muhlenberg and Ohio Counties' schools for more than 40 years. She was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Deborah Chapter of OES, Kentucky State Alumni Association and the Homemakers Club of Greenville.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Pritchett.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Ebenezer Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Benjamin Green of Hopkinsville. Burial will be in South Carrollton.
Mose Smith, 89, Dies in Florida
Mose R. Smith, 89, New Port Richey, Florida, formerly of Madisonville, died in New Port Richey, at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 13.
The body is due to arrive in Madisonville by train at 6:25 tonight and will be taken to Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in South Main street.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Bethlehem Christian church east of Madisonville, with the Rev. Bryon Carlisle of Owensboro officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Smith had been a member of the Bethlehem church for many years.
Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Julia Smith; a daughter, Mrs. Laura Smith Furgerson, Owensboro; two brothers, Sam Smith, Paradise, Ky., and Press Smith, Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Williams, Hartford, Ky., three grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the funeral home here after 7:30 tonight.
Services Held For Mrs. Nannie Smith
Mrs. Nannie W. Smith, 85, died at her home in Browder at 9:30 a.m. Friday. She was a member of the Rochester Christian Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. M. F. Hunt of Evansville and Mrs. William C. Hunt of Browder; one brother, Walter Evans of Louisville.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday at the Rochester Christian Church with the Rev. Elbert Winkler officiating. Burial was in the Rochester Cemetery.
Central City - Norman Smith, 49, died in Chicago at 2:10 p.m. Friday.
Born in Muhlenberg County, he was a member of Mercer Baptist Church.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Louise Smith; two sons, Jerry W. and James W., Chicago; one daughter, Miss Brenda Raye Smith, Chicago; one brother, Hubert, Cleaton; one sister, Mrs. Ranie Kyle, Springfield, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Mercer Baptist Church, the Rev. Guy Wilkerson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, here.
