Funeral services for former citizen
Mrs. Connie Bethel Sullivan, who died in Chicago, buried Tuesday afternoon
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Baptist Church, Powderly, for Mrs. Connie Bethel Sullivan, 32 years old, who died March 2, in a Chicago hospital. Mrs. Sullivan was a daughter of John Henry Bethel, a former citizen of Muhlenberg county.
The services were conducted by the Rev. Richard Fry, of Hammond, Ind., pastor of the Nazarene Church, of which church she was a member.
Surviving are her husband, Van Sullivan, and one son, Bobby; seven brothers, three of whom live in Muhlenberg county; Melvin Bethel, this city; Jack and Arthur Bethel, Powderly.
The body, upon arriving in the county, was taken to the home of Jack Bethel.
Following the services, burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Greenville.
Greenville - Barry Kevin Sullivan, 34, of Nashville, Tenn., formerly of Greenville, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997, at his parents' home in Greenville. He was a member of Greenville First Baptist Church, graduated from Owensboro Business College with a degree in data processing and was a computer operator at Robert Orr SYSCO Food Services Inc. in Nashville.
Survivors include his parents, Harold and Neva Sullivan of Greenville; his grandmother, Amel Sullivan of Greenville; and an aunt.
Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Funeral Services For Mrs. G.W. Sullivan
Funeral services for Mrs. G.W. Sullivan, 48 years old, who died at her home at Mercer last Friday at 6 p.m., were held from the Mercer Baptist church Saturday afternoon. Seven children survive.
Death of H.B. Sullivan
H.B. Sullivan, 65 years old, died at his home in the Dovey community last Thursday evening. Funeral services were held from the residence Friday, the Rev. Elmer Dennison officiating. Burial was in Jagoe cemetery. Surviving are his widow and five children.

Automobile accident results in fatal injuries to Central City woman.
Mrs. Jennie Sullivan, 61, of this city, died of a paralytic stroke at the home of a daughter at Madisonville on Saturday of last wekk, ten hours after she suffered a slight forehead laceration in an automobile accident.
The motor car in which Mrs. Sullivan was riding plunged into a ditch and her head struck the light dome. Others in the automobile were unhurt.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Richmond. A short service was held at Jagoe cemetery where she was laid to rest, conducted by Rev. Robert Spears.
Surving are two sons and three daughters.
Drakesboro, Ky. - John L. Sullivan, 60, a retired miner of Browder, Ky. died Wednesday in Dayton, Ohio of a long illness.
He is survived by five sons, Harold Lee and Wallace Sullivan of Chicago, James and Hollis of Dayton, Ohio, and Billy Sullivan of Bloomington, Ill., one daughter, Mrs. Katherine Johnson of Chicago; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Wagner of Mt. Vernon, Ind., Mrs. Mary Pogue of Owensboro, and Mrs. Mossie Smith of Central City; and 16 grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Browder Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. William Mallory, pastor of the First General Baptist Church, Dayton, Ohio, officiating. Burial will be in the Highway Cemetery in Drakesboro. The body is at the Parker-Washburne-Pannell Funeral Home in Drakesboro.
Arthur H. Sumner buried her Sun.
The funeral of Arthur Henry Sumner, who died at his home in Bevier Friday, was conducted at the Baptist church here Sunday afternoon, with burial in Fairmount cemetery. His death was due to a cerebral hemmorhage. He was 50 years, eight months and five days old, and leaves a widow, eleven children, one brother and one sister in addition to a wide circle of friends.
Several years ago he joined the Baptist church at this place, but had not resided here for some time. Rev. H. L. Thornton preached the funeral sermon and E.J. Anderson was funeral director.
Drakesboro, Ky. - Hershel Sutton, 75, of Drakesboro died Wednesday at Muhlenberg Community Hospital, Greenville. He was born in Drakesboro, was a member of St. Paul AME Zion Church and a charter member of Howe Dean Lodge 166 F&AM where he served as tyler and former worshipful master.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Traylor Sutton; a brother, the Rev. Walter Blacklock of Morganton, N.C.; two nieces, Cathonia Brown of Cleveland, Ohio, and Evelyn Robinson of Louisville and a nephew, Melvin Hopkins of Columbus, Ohio.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul AME Zion Church, Drakesboro. Burial in Smith Cemetery, Drakesboro. Visitation after 6 p.m. Saturday at Bibbs Funeral Home, Greenville.
