In the name of God Amen. I, Samuel Tharp, of the county of Muhlenberg and state of Kentucky, being very sick and weak in body, but of perfect mind & memory, thanks be given unto God, calling into mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say, principally and first of all, I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executrix, nothing doubting but that in the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give, devise and dispose of the same in the following manner & form.
First, I will that all my just dues and lawful debts be paid.
And secondly, I will that my beloved wife Jane have the full and free use of all my goods and chattels, household furniture, and whatsoever else appertains or in anywise belongs to my estate, during her natural life, and at her death, that an equal division of the estate, little or much, be made between Anne Hunsaker and Nancy Hunsaker by them and their heirs freely to be enjoyed forever.
And I do constitute, ordain and appoint my beloved wife Jane Tharp sole executrix of this my last will and testament. And I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke and disannul all and every other testimony, will, legacies, bequests and executions by me in anywise before named, willed and bequeathed, ratifying & confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereupon set my hand and seal this 20th day of March 1815.

I, Samuel Tharp, of the county of Muhlenberg and state of Kentucky, do this twenty third day of March one thousand eighty hundred & fifteen, make & publish this codicil to my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say, I give to all my lawful heirs one dollar & ten cents each and lastly it is my desire that this my present codicil be annexed to & made a part to my last will and testament, all intents and purposes. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty third day of March one thousand eight hundred & fifteen.

The above & foregoing will and testament of Samuel Tharp deceased was exhibited into court and proven by the oaths of Asher Shelton and William Weir, and the codicil thereto annexed was proven by the oaths of said William Weir and Nancy Stokes, subscribing witnesses thereto, an ordered to be recorded.
