I, Sikes Garris, being old & do not expect to live long now, being in my right mind & in good health & have previously made my will, it is my will that my son James Garris have fifty acres of land bounded as follows: Beginning at two white oaks & a hickory standing in an old line of a 400 acre claim entered by Sikes Garris & divides it Elish Uzzell Survey. Beginning South 25 E 40 poles to a white oak & dogwood & little black walnut standing between, them thence North 69 East 200 poles to sugartree, sweet gum & elm, thence North 30 W 40 poles to a stake thence to the Beginning. It is my will for my son James to have the colt that he claims. It is my will for my son James to have half the hogs that are raised on the place at my death. It is my will that my son James is to have his support & desire from the rest. It is my will for James to have my rifle gun. I make this my last will & testament, this 19 June 1841.
