Jonathan Groves' Will
Kentucky, Muhlenberg County
In the name of God, Amen.
I, Jonathan Groves of the aforesaid state and county being weak in body but of a sound and perfect mind and memory, blessed by almighty God for the same, I do make and published this, my last will and testament in the manner and form following, that is to say.
First, I give and bequeath to my well beloved sons, Isaac, Charles and William, all my lands and tenements and to my well beloeved wife, Edy Groves, all the rest of my moveable estate, goods and chattels of what kind soever they be; I give and bequeath the same to my well beloved wife during her widowhood and at the day of her marriage, she is to receive but a child's part. I likedwise appoint William Weir, David Groves & Edy Groves my well beloved wife executors and executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 20th day of March in the year of our Lord 1811.

The last will and testament of Jonathan Groves, deceased, was exhibited into court and proved by Joseph Groves a subscribing witness thereto and ordered to be certified. And at the May Court in the year above mentioned was fully proved by the oath of Susannah Gates a subscribing witness thereto which is therefore ordered to be recorded.
