In the name of God Amen. I George Hill of Muhlenberg County & State of Kentucky being sick & weak in body but of perfect mind & memory thanks be given unto God. Calling to mind the mortality of my body & knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, I do make & ordain this my last will & testament. That is to say principally & first of all, I give & recommend my soul unto the hands of Almighty God that gave it & my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executors. Nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the Same again by the mighty power of God. And as touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life I give Desire & dispose of the Same in the following manner & form.
First of all I give & bequeath unto my beloved wife Janey Hill all my land. Viz. 150 acres of land, together with all my Farming utensils, Household & furniture. All of which she Shall have during her life or widowhood unless either or all my daughters Polly, Dicey or Janey should marry before her death or marriage. Whereas if they do I wish my wife Janey to give them as nearly as possible what may be their portion. And at the death or marriage of my wife I want all the above mentioned property except the land to be equally divided amongst my three youngest daughters, Polly, Dicey & Janey.
Second, I give & bequeath unto my Son John Hill one bay horse named Maranda, one bed & furniture & all my tools pertaining [to] machininn [machining]. And all my land after the death of my wife. Also I wish My son John Hill to continue on the land with my wife as long as he may think proper.
Third I give & bequeath unto my daughter Libby Harper five Shillings having before given her all I intended.
Fourthly I desire that my two daughters Sarah Vincent & Gimima [Jemima] Wood have five dollars each at the death of my wife.
I also ordain, constitute & make Isaac Harrison as one of my sole executors of this my last will & testament and Zachariah Harrison as the other to execute this my last will & testament. And I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke & disannul all & every other formal testaments, wills, legacies, bequeaths & executors by me in any wise before mentioned, willed & bequeathed. Ratifying & confirming this & no other to be my last will & testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand & Seal this 29th day of September 1826.
