I, Wallace Hopkins, of Muhlenberg County & State of Kentucky, being sick & weak in body but of sound mind & calling to mind the uncertainty of human life, do hereby make my last will & testament as follows (viz.)
1st I desire that all my perishable property be immediately sold after my deceased and out of the money arising therefrom all my just debts & funeral expenses be paid.
2dly after the payment of my debts & funeral expenses, I give to my wife Sally Hopkins all my real & personal estate during her widowhood except what is hereafter disposed of & desire her to give my children a liberal education. After the death or marriage of my wife, I desire all my estate both real & personal to the equally divided among my children which I give to them, their heirs, executors, administrators & assigns forever.
3rdly I give to my sister-in-law Mrs. Fanny McDaniel a certain field supposed to be seven or eight acres lying on the west side of my plantation binding on a small branch also five acres of wood land adjoining the filed all of which I give her during her widowhood or until my children all become to mature age.
And lastly I do hereby appoint my friend & neighbor John W.I. Godman, executor of this my last will & testament hereby revoking all others or former wills or testaments by me heretofore made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal this 30th day of September 1835.

The foregoing last will & testmanet of Wallace Hopkins deceased was exhibited in to court & proven to be the act & deed of the said Hopkins by the oaths of John W.I. Godman & Reuben Stroud, subscribing witnesses thereto & ordered to be recorded.
