John Noftsinger, 1833

In the name of God Amen. I, John Noftsinger, of the County of Muhlenberg & State of Kentucky, being of a great age & weak in body but yet of a sound mind & perfect recollection think fit to make my last Will & Testament in the following manner towit.

First it is my will & desire that all my Just debts & funeral expenses be faithfully & speedily paid

2ndly I give & bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary Noftsinger my plantation whereon I now reside with all the stocks of cattle horses &c. together with all the farming utensils, household furniture &c. and negros during her lifetime and after her death I give the said plantation with the tract of land belonging to it with one half of all the stocks of cattle & horses &c. then on the plantation to my grandson Benjamin Coffman to him & his Heirs forever.

3rdly I give & bequeath unto my daughter Mary Peters Five dollars, I have heretofore given her & her husband her portion of land, negros and other property.

4thly I give & bequeath unto my daughter Hannah Coffman Five dollars I have heretofore given her & her husband land, negros & other property.

5thly I give & bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Donohoe Five dollars I have given her & her farmer husband three hundred & Eighty acres of land as surveyed & run off by Peter Shaver but never made a deed to the same. I therefore bequeath the same to the Heirs of Benjamin Johnson decd., but that is not to be construed so as to deprive her of the Right of Dower, I have also given her negros & other property.

6thly I have given to my Daughter Nancy Gossett deceased & to her children their full portion except to her son Joseph Gossett & to him I give & bequeath Two hundred acres of land adjoining the lands of Benjamin Donohoe & Benjamin Coffman, as surveyed & run off by Peter Shaver.

7thly I give & bequeath unto my grand Daughter Elizabeth Turner, late Elizabeth Noftsinger Five dollars I have given her lands & other property heretofore.

Lastly I appoint ordain and constitute Peter Shaver my Executor of this my last Will & Testament.

In testimony Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this 13th day of February in the year of our Lord 1833.

The foregoing last will & testament of John Noftsinger deceased was exhibited in to court & proven to be the act & deed of the said Noftsinger by the Oaths of Daniel Plain & John Coffman subscribing witnesses thereto & ordered to be recorded.
