Jones Walker Will

Transcription

I, Jones Walker, being of sound mind and disposing memory, do make and declare this my last will and testament.

First, I will and desire that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid.

Second, I will and bequeath all my personal property to my wife Maranda E. Walker during her lifetime and at her death to descend to my youngest child Wyatt W. Walker.

Third, I give and bequeath to my wife Maranda E. two tracts of land which constitute the farm, one tract containing 60 acres, the other containing 31 acres, the two tracts containing 91 acres. At the death of my wife Maranda, the two tracts to descend to my youngest son Wyatt W. Walker to be owned end possessed by him.

Fourth, I give and bequeath to my other children a tract of land adjoining the two above tracts containing 45 acres, this tract to be sold and divided between my older children.

I hereby desire that Wyatt Johnston be appointed my executor.

I, this the 6 day of June 1881, make this codicil to my last will and testament. I expect my wife to give birth to another child in about two months from this date and if it lives, I wish it to share equally with our other child Wyatt W. Walker, at my wife's death the property to be equally divided between them that was heretofore willed to W.W. Walker.

The foregoing last will and testament of Jones Walker decd. was this day produced to court and proven to be the act and deed of the said Jones Walker by the oath of Jno. E. Reno, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, who also testified to the signature of E.L. Cook, the other subscribing witness thereto, and the codicil attached to the last will and testament was also proven to be the act and deed of the said Walker by the oath of Jno. E. Reno, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, who also testifed to the acknowledgement of Jno. B. Rowe to his signature, the other subscribing witness thereto. Whereupon the same was ordered to be recorded which is now accordingly done.
