Feeling that I am but mortal and that it is but the common lot of man to die and being of sound mind but feeble in body, do make, ordain and establish this my last will & testament in manner & form following towit.
1st, I desire that all my just debts be paid.
2nd, I give and bequeath to my son John S. Young, my negro boy Daniel.
3rd, I give & bequeath to my daughter Nancy B. Young, my servant girl Caroline.
4th, To my daughter Agness R. Young, Kitty.
5th, To my son William H. Young, Jacob.
6th, To my daughter Elizabeth B. Young, Mary.
7th, To my daughter J. Marianne Young, her choice of my small boys Harrison, Sirius, Isham, or Garrett.
8th, To my son Benjamin C. Young, choice of the three remaining boys after my daughter Marianne shall have chosen one.
9th, To my son Robert H. Young, choice of the remaining two.
10th I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Nancy Young all the remainder of my negroes together with all my personal and real estate for her maintenance and for the education of my three younger sons, my sd. wife to have & to hold the same during her natural life & widowhood, and upon the happening of either of those events, my desire is that all the estate that is left her be equally divided amongst all my children then living and if any die leaving heirs, those heirs to be their representatives and to be entitled to their parents portion.
I appoint my dearly beloved wife Nancy Young my sole executrix and that no security be required of her in any shape or form upon her entering upon the discharge of that trust. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this [blank] day of February 1845.

The foregoing last will and testament of Benjamin S. Young deceased was exhibited into court and proved to be the act and deed of the said decedent by the oaths of Edward J. Wilson and Alfred M. Jackson, the subscribing witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded. In witness that the same has been truly recorded, I have hereunto set my hand.
