on that day may yet yield its fruit. Br.
Lee also threw in his sickel and with Zeal

the reason of Br. Mitchells request & C but
said he thought that Br. Mitchel would reclind
that request if it was the wish of the Brethern. There
was then a motion made and Seconded whether
Br. Mitchel should again take charge of the
congregation. The vote was then taken
and it was unanimous that Br. Mitchel should
still continue to act as Bishop for this congregation. The
case relative to the Brethren who had trangressed
for some time was laid over until Lords day
week. G.W.

May 15th 1841 -
Br. Powel met with the Disciples again and
delivered
quite an interesting discourse and concluded
with a verry pathetick extortaion, entreating
Sinners to flee from the wrath to come, but
none yielded. The Disciples then celebrated
the death of their Lord and Master and adjourned. G.W.
Holton CLK.
May 23rd 1841 - The Brethren
met on this day for the purpose of attending
to Some business that was before the church. Br.
Jno. Holton was chosen moderator. (Before
this business that was before the church was
attended to) The Disciples worshiped
God by singing and prayer.
Br.
Robt. Rawlings case was taken 1st. The
fact was proved that Br. Rawlings had been
seen twice by some of the Brethren intoxicated. Br.
Rawlings failed to come forward and make acknowledgements
or to give any satisfaction to the church. He
was therfore Excluded for intoxification.
Br. James Delany case came next. He
was charged with having made use of profane
language some 3 or 4 times in the presence
of Br. Thomas Lay from whom the church recd.
information. Br. Lay informaed the church
that he talked to Br. Delany about his conduct
and entreated him to do better but to no affect. Br.
Delany failing to come forward and make acknowledgements
to the Church. He was excluded for profane
swearing.
Br. Jno Buoys case came next and was laid
over, the Brethern not being there that saw
him intoxicated.

(There is a mistake in reporting
this meeting. The Desciples broke the loaf
after attending to the business that was before
the church.)
June 6th 1841 - We met
on this day for worship. Br Mitchell
discoursed to them. After preaching the
death of our Lord and Master was celebrated. Then
the reference relative to Br. Jno. Buoy was
taken up. Br. Buoy was present. He
acknowledged his fault and promised by the
help of God to do better. The Brethren
willingly forgave him and he is now in full
fellowship. G.W.

June 20, 1841 - The Disciples met with Br.
Powel on this day at the meeting house. And
Br. Powel discussed to them and concluded his
remarks by exorting Sinners to obedience. Winny
a oloured woman came forward and confessed
her faith in the Lord. The invitation
was then extended to those who had been immersed
and wished to unite with this congregation. Three
came forward, to wit - Sarah Marshall, Joseph
Gifford and William Clayton. The death
of the Lord was then celebrated. G.W.

On the Saturday before the 3rd Sunday in July
Br Powel met the Disciples at Richland. He
discoursed to them on saturday and Sunday. On
Sunday Brethren Coleman Clayton, William Clayton,
WIlliam Lay and Squire Washborne , also Sister
Washborne & Sister Clayton asked permission
of the Church to the church at Mechanicks Burgh
and it was granted them. G.W.

Sept. 5th 1841 - The Disciples
at RIchland met on this day for worship. Br.
Mitchel met with them. But there was
an objection raised by a baptist Br. relative
to our occupying the house, therefore Br. Mitchel
did not discourse to us this day. We
however opened meeting by singing and prayer. Gave
a short exortation and opened the door of the
church for the reception of any who had been
previously immersed. Six came forward, to wit:
James King, Alcy King, Wm. Atwell, Margaret
Atwell, Margaret Mitchel jur, and Malinda Collier. The
death of our Lord and Master was then celebrated. The
Brethren then gave up the house and retired
to a Shade hard by. There was a consultation
held relative to sending a messenger to the
Annual meeting held or to be held at Paris. It
was thought expedient that the church at Richland
should be reported at the Annual meeting. Br.
Mitchel was therefore appointed to report and
Br. James Dawson to bear the Letter to the
meeting. Ad. G.W.
