He died 2 on Feb 2 1901 in Waverly, Lancaster County, Nebraska. He was buried 3 in Rose Hill Cemetery, Lancaster County, Nebraska.
Amos Chaney Burton was born April 16, 1830, in Pulaski County, Kerntucky. He was the third of five children of William T. and Susannah Burton. His father died in 1834, and his mother married Benjamin Robbins and was living in the town of Paris, Jennings County, Indiana, in 1840.
Amos Chaney Burton is described as a clock repairer and latter a farmer. The person he was engaged to burned to death in a forest fire. Moreover, his mother and step-father died and it fell to him to rear his young half brother Benjamin Jackson Robbins, his half sister Emily Robbins, and sister Sally. In 1855, he, together with his brother-in-law, James Stowers and step-brother Charles Robbins, started to Kansas to homestead land. His sister, Sally, became ill and soon after died and is buried at Bloomfield, Iowa.
In Indiana, Amos Chaney Burton had known the Headrick family and again met the Headrick family in Iowa. On August 26, 1858, he married Daniel Headrick's daughter, Lavina, In 1865, they moved to a Homestead Grant 14 miles east of Lincoln Nebraska. where a sod house was built. In1874, Lavina died three days after the birth of Mary A. leaving Amos Chaney Burton with six children, the oldest at 14 years. Amos Chaney Burton did not marry again and died 2 February, 1901, and is buried beside his wife in the Waverly, Nebraska Cemetery.

Daniel Headrick Burton, born October 29, 1869. 29 vii. Harvie Hill Burton, born June 09, 1872. 30 viii. Mary A. Burton, born April 16, 1874 (Mother died three days later due to same cause-measles).
Amos married 1 Lavina Headrick daughter of Daniel Headrick on Aug 28 1858 in Bloomfield, Davis County, Iowa. Lavina died 2 on Apr 19 1874. She was buried 3 in Rose Hill Cemetery, Lancaster County, Nebraska.
Had the measles.
