92. Amos Chaney (John Chaney , Jacob Chaney , Charles , Richard , Richard , Richard ) was born 1 about 1800 in Pulaski County, Kentucky.

Line Creek Baptist Church Members before 1860
Andrew Baker, Jeremiah Brinkley, Rebecca Brinkley, Amos Chaney, Tempy Chaney, Andrew Decker, Nancy Decker, Mahala Duncan, Tillman Duncan, Elizabeth Jones, Nelson Jones, H Linville, Sarah Price, Adam Renner, William Fox Richardson, Anna Shiplet, Finch Shiplet, Fieldon L Warren, Matthew Warren, Martha Warren.
In 1882 the property on Line Creek was owned by James Cooper who had bought it from Andrew Decker. At this stage of my land research, it looks as if the land was originally sold to Amos Chaney by Holbert McClure in the 1846. (Decker purchased most or all of the Chaney land, then later sold it to Cooper.)
No matter whether the Shiplett Cemetery was connected with the church or not, I believe this is the most likely burial location for Amos and Temperance Chaney, members of the Isaacs family, and maybe even some of the Warrens than any other that has been found. (Jeff Renner)

93. Susannah Chaney (John Chaney , Jacob Chaney , Charles , Richard , Richard , Richard ) was born 1 in 1807 in Pulaski County, Kentucky. She died 2 in Sep 1852 in Paris Crossin, Jennings County, Indiana. Susannah was married 2 times.

Susannah married 1 (1) William Thomas Burton son of Thomas Caleb Burton and Jerisha McDaniel on Aug 25 1825 in Somerset, Pulaski County, Kentucky. William was born 2 in 1803 in Pulaski County, Kentucky. He died 3 in 1834 in Bartholomew County, Indiana.

In the early surveys recorded in Pulaski County, Kentucky, is a record of one George Burton's survey, made in 1802, which was bounded by James Burton, sr., which would indicate that James Burton Sr. held land prior to other Burtons. In Survey Book 1, page 100, May 2, 1807, Thomas Burton is land on the Waters of Fishing Creek, beginning on the line of James Burton Sr.
In "The Nuncupative Will of Thomas Burton, deceased, made in the time of his last illness, who died at his own habituation on the 17th day of September, one thousand eight hundred and fourteen,…….I give to my wife, Jerusha Burton, all the tract of land whereon I now live., except fifty acres at little spring, as foresaid, I give to my son William, and the balance to be equally divided. Given under our hands on this 23rd day of September, one thousand eight hundred and fourteen. Teste. Nossias Nance, Will Towl."
Nancy Burton who married Benjamin Floyd, gave a deed to William T. Burton on December 15, 1826, for her "one fourth part of a tract of land. lying on the waters of Fishing Creek, formerly belonging to Thomas Burton, deceased, which said Burton left by Will to be equally divided between his four children." A similar transaction is recorded for Rebecca Burton (December 15, 1826) and Susannah Burton (August 14, 1833). Jerusha is mentioned in the August 14, 1833 document.
William T. Burton was married August 25, 1825, to Susannah Chaney, daughter of John Chaney. The bond was filed in Pulaski County, Kentucky, in a box marked "for 1820-1834 - Marriage Bonds," (Grant-Samson unpublished mimeo page 19) with Hyram Chaney as surety and Samuel J. Todd as Whitness. Consent was filled authorized by Mr. William Fox (County Clerk) to issue for "William T. Burton to marry my daughter Susannah. Given under my hand and seal this 22nd. day of August." Signed John Chaney. Whitness : William Floyd and Hezekial Chaney."
In a letter to his brother James R. Burton, William writes "I want you to take this to Daniel Burton and let him read it, and you read this top James Cooper and to William Jarvis, and I want you to keep this and take good care of it till I see you, for I will want it. This is a plan for our new Camden Town" which was to be offered for sale in January 1832 as indicated in a letter from George Craig, Vevay (Indiana). This land lies 40 miles from Madison in a direct line to Indianapolis Indiana. The next record for William T. Burton is for land (84 acres) he received as a Land Grant on December 7, 1827, in Pulaski County. Sometime between the birth of Amos Chaney Burton, April 16, 1830, and August 14, 1833, William T. Burton disposed of his property in Kentucky, and settled in Barholomew County, Indiana, where he purchased land. The relationship of James Burton, William T. Burton, their father Thomas, to land in both Kentucky and Indiana is laid out in deeds 7-2, page 857, Pulaski County, Kentucky, 31 August, 1833.
Also, on August 14, 1833, William T. Burton, as guardian of the persons and property of James R. Burton and Susannah Burton, being heirs of Thomas Burton, deceased, and his widow Jerusha, sold in their behalf land left by their father and husband. William T. Burton died in 1834. Susannah Burton latter married Benjamin Robbins. On 6 June, 1840, Susannah Robbins is reported to have purchase land for herself and her children, John Thomas Burton, Susannah Burton, Amos Chaney Burton, Rebecca Burton and Sally Ann Burton with the indenture recorded on 23 June, 1840, in Jennings County, Indiana.
Children of William Burton and Susannah Chaney are:
+ 18 i. Amos Chaney8 Burton, born April 16, 1830 in Pulaski County, Kentucky; died February 02, 1901 in Waverly, Nebraska. 19 ii. John Thomas Burton. 20 iii. Susannah Burton. 21 iv. Rebecca Burton. 22 v. Sally Anne Burton.

Susannah married 1 (2) Benjamin Robbins on Jun 16 1839. Benjamin died 2 in Indiana.

First and second wives Unknown. Had children by other marriages. On June 16, 1839, Benjamin Robbins married a third time to a widow lady, Susannah Chaney Burton, who had been a member of the Coffee Creek Baptist Church in Paris Crossing since May of 1835. She had five children from her first husband, William T. Burton, before he died in Bartholomew County, Indiana. Benjamin and Susannah Robbins bought two adjacent 40 acre parcels by Paris Crossing about one half mile south of the old Coffee Creek cemetery on January 26, 1844, and probably lived there when their daughter, Emily Robbins, was born as well as when their son, Benjamin Jackson Robbins, was born on May 30, 1845. The combined families of Benjamin and Susannah Robbins appeared on the September 11, 1850, census for Montgomery Township, Jennings County, Indiana.

Susannah Chaney Burton/Robbins died in September of 1852. Two of the Burton children, John and Rebecca, and their spouses sold Susannah's 40 acres on May 3, 1854. In June of 1854 Benjamin Robbins was excluded from the membership roll of the Coffee Creek Baptist Church in Paris Crossing,
Indiana, because he joined a church of another denomination.

In 1855 the Burton and Robbins children decided to move out west to Kansas. The oldest girl, Susannah Burton, was dismissed by letter of transfer from the membership roll of the Coffee Creek Baptist Church in Paris Crossing, Indiana, in August of 1855. Shortly after leaving Indiana they were advised not to go to Kansas because it was a border state between the North and the South. So, they would have gone to Nebraska then but the youngest Burton girl, Sally, was very frail and became quite ill so they stopped in
Bloomfield IA to take care of her. Sally died in Iowa.

On August 11, 1856, Benjamin Robbins sold his 40 acres at Paris Crossing, Indiana. At a Coffee Creek Baptist Church business meeting on the 3rd Saturday in June of 1857 Benjamin Robbins was restored to the church membership roll and then dismissed by letter of transfer at the same meeting. Benjamin may have died soon after that because a short biography of Aaron Robbins reported that his father died in Indiana at the age of 70. The older boys in the Burton-Robbins family worked at a brick factory in Bloomfield IA where they knew the Headrick family. Amos Burton married Lavina Headrick, Charles
Robbins married Nancy Pollard, Aaron Robbins married Frances Welch and Emily Robbins married Mortan C. Floyd (Morton Floyd was a son of Abraham Floyd, Jr and Jane "Jincy" Chaney, sister of Emily Robbins' mother, Susannah Chaney/Burton/ Robbins) while they all lived in Davis County Iowa. Benjamin Jackson Robbins lived in the home of Amos and Lavina Burton. In 1863 to 1865 all of the families, except maybe Emily's, moved out near Ashland in Saunders County, Nebraska. Emily may have died in Davis County Iowa about 1868. In 1874 Benjamin Jackson Robbins married Amelia Beyer who was born in 1853 in Gebesee, Germany.
