Dr. Elmer Gilmore Prewitt was born in 1921 to James and Susie Oliver Prewitt. They lived at the head of Prewitt Branch. He was the youngest child of Jim and Susie’s. There were six boys and three girls in the family. Elmer attended grade school at Bon. He had to walk about 1.5 miles thru a path in and out of the woods.
