Bon Jellico, Kentucky School Memories
(From Mae Perkins Simms, 1983)

I remember a lot of nice things about Bon Jellico, especially how Newman and Harrison Campbell and Bryon Johnson helped to make the school a place to learn, although it took some doing. I remember how Raymond Lovitt, Francis Fritts, myself, and others walked to Williamsburg School rain or shine. Pleas Jones was in my class.
I still remember the school plays. One was “The Old Oaken Bucket” put on by lamplight.
