Everett Smith,
son of Frank and Claudie Bishop Smith, was born on Beck’s Creek Road
in 1907. His dad was mine foreman at Bon Jellico. He had four brothers
and one sister.
Everett married
Lillian Steiner in 1932. They had two girls.
Everett worked
at Bon and Black Star.
He went to school
at Bon to the 5th grade and then went to Williamsburg City School. He
was in the armed services from 1944-1945. He moved to Corbin in 1945 and
operated
a grocery store on the East side of Corbin. His store closed around 1959.
He worked one year in Kingsport, Tennessee and worked for Holbert Furniture
in Corbin from 1960-1961. He was employed 20 years at Belks and retired
