Creekmore, son of J.M. Creekmore, who was operated on for appendicitis
at a Corbin
Hospital a few days ago, is reported to be doing nicely.
Mart Pemberton, who joined the Navy a few weeks ago, was called
for the 25th. He left Sunday night on the 11:42 train for Louisville. He will
shortly
leave
for Norfolk, VA.
M.G. Lovett, Raymond, Milton and Roy Lovett attended the ball game
at
Yaden,
Sunday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Paris Hudson are the proud parents of a baby girl.
Milton Lovett made his usual trip to Frog Level, Saturday night.
Miss Gertie Parker, who stays at Ben McKeehan's, spent the week
end here
with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Parker.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Bishop a fine boy, Saturday, June 23rd.
Miss Orena Oliver, who stays at Pat West's, was a Sunday visitor
here.
Mrs. Eliza Criscillis of Williamsburg spent the week end visiting
her
sisters
here, Mrs. Nannie Creekmore and Mrs. F.M. Lovett.
Mr. Howard Martin is on the sick list at this writing.
Mr. Francis Stanaford made his usual trip to Emlyn, Sunday morning.
L.B. and Kirt Stanaford are very busy splitting kindling this week.
Mr. Clifford Sharp made his usual visit sunday afternoon to the
home of
Miss
Dora Lovett.
Mr. Mart Pemberton spent Sunday afternoon with his friend, Miss
Reba Lovett,
before taking his leave for the Navy.
Folks here are getting ready to attend the all day singing at the
Court
House,
Sunday, July 1st.
Mr. Jim and Cawood Owens are busy cutting and taking care of oats
