About the USGenWeb Project: In December, 1995 Jeff Murphy created what was to become the first county page in the USGenWeb Project with his Muhlenburg County, KY page. In March and April, 1996, he and a group of other genealogists organized the Kentucky Comprehensive Genealogy Database Project, which soon changed it's name to KYGenWeb. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Kentucky, where collected databases would be stored. In addition, the databases would be indexed and cross-linked, so that even if an individual were found in more than one county, they could be located in the index.

At the same time, volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of the web page. Since then the project has ballooned into to encompass the world. To go to the project homepage, click on WorldGenWeb.

Contact the volunteer shown on the county page in question if you have a desire to add your data. If the county in which you are interested does not have a page and you wish to participate, please contact Sherri Bradley. For more information, visit the KYGenWeb page.
