Eldridge, Mary
(Ferguson) 1941 1996 Red Bush resident Mary
Alka Eldridge, 54, died February 6 1996 at her Red Bush
residence. Mrs. Eldridge, was born October 3, 1941, in
Johnson County, the daughter of the late Lundy and
Nollie Murray Ferguson. Surviving are her husband,
Clement Eldridge; three stepsons, Jason Eldridge of Red
Bush, C. J. Eldridge of Keaton and Ricky Eldridge of
Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two stepdaughters; Jenny Castle of
Red Bush; and Tammy Lyon of Keaton; four brothers,
Virgil Ferguson of Red Bush, Walter and Doug Ferguson,
both of Blaine, and Russell Ferguson of Flat Gap; three
sisters, Flora King of Wittensville, Carolyn Sue
Franklin of Boons Camp and Earlene Lawson of Blaine; and
three step-grandchildren. Funeral services were held
Thursday, February 8, at Flat Gap Baptist church, with
Joe Thomas Keaton and Lowell Pelphrey officiating.
Burial was in the family cemetery at Flat Gap, with
Paintsville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Ferguson, Billy Clifford
-1923-2005 Memorial services were held Saturday,
July 30, 2 p.m., at the Conklin Reform Church with
the Cresent-Lisbon Masonic Lodge, for Billy Clifford
Ferguson, 81, of Haines City, Fla., who passed away
Thursday, July 28 at Good Shepherd Hospice in
Auburndale, Fla.Mr. Ferguson was born December 29,
1923 in Thelma, Ky. He was a retired engineer with
Conrail, and he was a fruit grower. He was also
preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Gillhespy;
one son, Donald Lee Ferguson; and one brother,
Berlin Jones.Surviving are two daughters, Tommi
(Charlie) Stroul of Braselton, Ga., and Paula
Ferguson of Edwardsburg, Mich.; two
sons, James (Sandra) Ferguson of Comstock Park,
Mich., and Bruce Ferguson of Eagle Grove, Iowa;
three brothers, Paul Jones of Victoria, Texas, Don
Jones of Paintsville, Ky., and Delmar Jones of
Versailles, Mo.; two sisters, Phyllis Witt of
Versailles, Mo., and Janet Sue Kirkham of Elizabeth,
Ind.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Interment
followed the service at McNitt Cemetery at Conklin,
Mich.Arrangements under the direction of Oak Ridge
Funeral Care of Haines City, Fla.

Ferguson, Mrs. Frances Kate
-28, died at 1:10 a.m. Saturday at her home on the
Dayton Pike just west of town. She had been ill of a
heart ailment for almost a week prior to her death. Born
August 20, 1909 in Greear, Kentucky, Mrs. Ferguson came
to this community about five years ago. Funeral services
for Mrs. Ferguson were held at the home of her husband`s
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harland Ferguson in Greer,
Kentucky at 2:00 p.m. Monday . Officiating was Rev. Ira
Dunn who was assisted by Rev. Jack Wheeler , pastor of
the Primitive Baptist Church, Malone, Ky., of which Mrs.
Ferguson was a member. Burial was in the family cemetery
in Greear. Surviving relatives include the husband, John
; two sisters, Mrs. Fern Lewis and Mrs. Victoria Stacey,
both of Greear ; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Ferguson, Julia Ray Lambert
-1922-2005-Funeral services were held Saturday,
August 20, 10 a.m. at the Tom’s Creek Free Will Baptist
Church for Julia Ray Lambert Ferguson, 83, of Meally,
Ky., who passed away Wednesday, August 17 at her
residence. Mrs. Ferguson was born March 22, 1922 in
Lincoln County, W.Va., daughter of the late Christian
and Minnie Holly Lambert. She was a homemaker. Surviving
are her husband, Harry Ferguson of Meally, Ky.; three
daughters, Charlotte Dockery of Wittensville, Ky., Terry
Maury of Katy, Texas, and Holly Benningfield of
Greenville, Ky.; one sister, Blanche Boothe of
Huntington, W.Va.; and six grandchildren, two
step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The service
was officiated by James Kelly Caudill, with burial in
the Highland Memorial Gardens at Logan, W.Va.

Ford, Opal A. ‘Nell’
-1937-2005-Graveside services were held Tuesday, August
23, 10 a.m. at Ward/Daniel Cemetery at Williamsport,
Ky., for Opal A. “Nell” Ford, 67, of Thelma, Ky., who
passed away Saturday, August 20 at her home. Mrs. Ford
was born December 12, 1937 in Johnson County, Ky.,
daughter of the late Asa A.B. and Ella Ward Daniel. She
was an internationally published poet. She was also
preceded in death by her husband, Paul Douglas Ford, and
one brother, Franklin A. Daniel. Surviving are one son,
Terry Lee Ford of Terre Haute, Ind.; two daughters, Tobi
Anne Tate of Frankfort, Ky., and Traci Paulette Ford of
Thelma, Ky.; her fiancé´, Charles E. Hann; and three
grandchildren. Arrangements under the direction of the
Phelps Funeral Home of Paintsville, Ky.

Fraley, Robin
Lynn -46, of Georgetown, formerly of
Weeksbury, died Saturday, August 27, 2005, at her
residence. Born December 24, 1958, in Bowling Green,
Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Edward Bressler
and Peggy Bryant Napper. Her step-father was the late
Johnny Napper. She was a homemaker and a member of
Wheelwright Methodist Church. She is survived by her
husband, James D. Fraley of Georgetown. Other survivors
include her daughters and son-in-law: Jessica Rose and
Freddy Wayne Bell, and Meghan Lynn Fraley, all of
Georgetown; brothers: James Horn of Urbana, Ohio, Gregg
Horn of Belfontaine, Ohio, and Luther Horn and Kenny
Horn, both of Cable, Ohio; sisters: Edna Spradlin of
Prestonsburg, Lori Cox of Mt. Sterling, Ohio, Diane
Clingman of Mansfield, Ohio, Nyoka Foor of London, Ohio;
her mother-in-law, Aileen Fraley of Weeksbury; and a
cousin, Barbara T. Everett of Urbana, Ohio. In addition
to her parents, and step-father, she was preceded in
death by one brother, Carl Douglas Horn; and two
sisters: Bonita Gaye Horn and Vanita Kaye Horn. Funeral
services were held Tuesday, August 30, at 11 a.m., at
Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, with Bobby Isaac
officiating. Burial was in the Newman Cemetery, in Hi
Hat, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.

Fyffe, Merdia
-1930-2005Funeral services were held Saturday, September
17, 11 a.m. at the Peaceful Valley Church for Merdia
Fyffe, 75, of Fairborn, Ohio, who passed away Sunday,
September 11 at Grandview Hospital in Fairborn, Ohio.
Mr. Fyffe was born July 10, 1930 in Crockett, Ky., son
of the late Isaac and Bula Johnson Fyffe. He was a
carpenter. He was also preceded in death by his wife,
Rebecca Ruth Fyffe. Surviving are three sons, John
(Brenda) and Steven (Lori) Fyffe, both of Xenia, Ohio,
and Keith Fyffe of Fairborn, Ohio; four daughters, Naomi
Fyffe of Dayton, Ohio, Brenda (Melvin) Reed of Xenia,
Ohio, Emma Fyffe of Beavercreek, Ohio, and Christy Fyffe
of Fairborn, Ohio; four brothers, James Russell Fyffe of
Huber Heights, Ohio, Ollie Clifford and Charlie B.
Fyffe, both of Fairborn, Ohio, and Emerson Fyffe of
Arizona; three sisters, Emma Pittman of California, Nola
Keaton and Lita Smith, both of Kentucky; and 19
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The service
was officiated by Lowell Ferguson and Paul E. Keaton,
with burial in the Castle Family Cemetery at Red Bush,
Ky. Home of Paintsville, Ky.

Gambill, Lula - In memory of Lula
Gambill. She was born Nov 10, 1894, the daughter of
Eligiah Cantrell and Margaret Ann Bolin Cantrell.
Both have preceded her in death. She was united in
marriage to Chillie Gambill in 1929. Her death
occurred at her home June 3, 1966 at the age of 71
yrs 6 mo and 23 days. She is survived by her
husband, Chillie and 2 sons and 1 daughter. Her
sons are John A Cantrell and Bronston Gambill and
daughter Berta Gladis Cantrell. She is also
survived by 6 brothers and 4 sisters. Lonzie
Cantrell, John Wallace Cantrell, Carl Cantrell,
Shell Cantrell and Earl Cantrell, and Monroe
Cantrell, Mrs. Betty Holbrook, Mrs. Pollie Cantrell,
Mrs. Lina Wright and Mrs. Nora Alice Gambill. She
is also survived by 19 grandchildren

Gibson, Donnie Lee
-50, of Elkhorn City, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at
Cabell-Huntington Hospital, Huntington, W.Va. He was
born in Pike County, Jan. 4, 1955, a son of the late
Wesley and Katherine Bowling Gibson. He was an auto body
repairman. He was preceded in death by his first wife,
Rebecca Lynn Chaffin Gibson. He is survived by his wife,
Susan Allen Gibson; two sons, Shawn Gibson and Matthew
Allen, both of Elkhorn City; one daughter, Priscilla
Allen of Elkhorn City; one stepson, Shannon Chaffin of
Elkhorn City; five brothers, Roger Wesley Gibson of
Homestead, Fla., Michael Clark Gibson of Jenkins, Allen
"Gizmo" Gibson and Nathan Howard Gibson, both of Elkhorn
City, Mark Tracy Gibson of Nicholasville; and one
sister, Gloria Gibson Crumley of Elkhorn City. Funeral
services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, in
the Poor Bottom Baptist Church, with the Rev. Richard
Gibson, Terry Gibson, Allen Gibson and Edgar Sanders
officiating. Burial will follow in the Buddy Ratliff
Cemetery, Poor Bottom. Arrangements are under direction
of Bailey Funeral Home of Elkhorn City. Visitation is at
the church.

Gibson, Mary Louise-
75, of Shelbyville died Friday, July 29, at her
residence. Born April 30, 1930, at Lawton, Okla., she
was a daughter of the late George H. and Littie Mae
Caldwell Price. She was a homemaker and a member of
Cornerstone Family Church. She was also preceded in
death by two brothers Tommy Price and Novie Price; and
two sisters, Kathy Huvley and Anita Cummins. Additional
survivors include her husband, Jams M. Gibson of
Shelbyville, three sons, Steve Kodie Amyx of
Owingsville, Daniels James Amyx of Frankfort, and Terry
Amyx of Salyersville; two stepsons Jeffrey lee Gibson of
Lexington, and Michael Ray Gibson of Shelbyville; a
daughter, Sharon Kay Helton of Shelbyville; a
stepdaughter, Lisa Ann Gibson of Georgetown; a brother,
Paul James Price of Brighton, Mich.; a sister Susie
Curtis of Clarksville, Tenn..; 16 grandchildren. Funeral
services were Monday, Aug. 1, at Magoffin County Funeral
Home Chapel, Salyersville, with Craig Basler
officiating. Burial was in Harper Cemetery, White Oak,
under direction of Magoffin County Funeral Home.

Gipson,
Darrell Ray -June 8, 1950—August 1, 2005-55,
a resident of Mt. Sterling, Ky, passed away August 1,
2005 at St. Joseph Hospice Care Center. Mr. Gibson was
born June 8, 1950 in Magoffin County, the son of Charles
“Buck” and Ruth Watson Gibson of Mt. Sterling. He was a
member of Apostolic Church. In addition to his mother,
he is survived by two brothers, Harry Gibson of Mt.
Sterling, and James Morris of Shelbyvile; tow sisters,
Karen June Witter of Johnstown, Oh, and Donna Mathias of
Anniston, Al; five nieces; and three nephews. Funeral
services were conducted August 4, 2005 at the Herald and
Stewart Home for Funerals with Kenneth Binion
officiating. Burial followed at the Ramey Reed
Cemetery. Arrangements were in the care of the Herald
and Stewart Home for Funerals.

-1935-2005Funeral services will be held Saturday,
September 24, 1:30 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral
Home Chapel for Carl Grim, 70, of Flat Gap, Ky., who
passed away Tuesday, September 20 at the Riverview
Nursing Home in Prestonsburg, Ky. Paul Cecil Grim and
the late Katherine Zimmer Grim. He is also preceded in
death by two brothers, Darlie and Danny Grim; and one
sister, Marion Armstrong. He was a carpenter. Surviving
in addition to his father are two sons, William “Cody”
Grim of Belmont, Texas, and Gary Smith of McArthur,
Ohio; two daughters, Debbie Graham of Lebanon, Ohio, and
Linda Stark of Hillsboro, Ohio; three brothers, Joe Grim
of Washington, Pa., and Dorris and Darvin Grim, both of
Flat Gap, Ky.; four sisters, Lela Green of
Mechanicsburg, Ohio, Linda Wells and Lila Beavers, both
of Flat Gap, Ky., and Lexie Fuson of Lexington, Ky.; and
five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The service
will be officiated by Tim Salyer, with burial following
in the Grim Cemetery at Flat Gap, Ky. Arrangements under
the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of
Paintsville, Ky.

Gullett, Amos
-son of the late Christia and Melvania Arnett Gullett,
was born June 11, 1889 and departed this life Jan 31,
1966, being 76 yrs, 7 mos, and 20 days old. Amos was
united in marriage to Laura Wheeler Dec 9, 1919. To
this union the following children were born: Mrs. Edgar
Blanton, Mrs. Herman Montgomery, Walter Gullett, Archie
Gullett, and Mrs. Junior Preston. Those surviving
besides his wife are his children, 19 grandchildren, 4
great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Oscar Gullett, Christia
Gullett, 2 sisters America Conley, Martha Cole.

Gullet, Jack
1927-1996 Preston Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements for Jack Gullett. 68, who died Monday,
February 12, 1996 at his Paintsville residence. Mr.
Gullett was born March 8, 1927, in Johnson County,
the son of the late Sherman and Irene Bush Bullett.
He was retired as superintendent of maintenance with
the University of Kentucky and a member of Southside
Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife,
Betty Gullett; two sons, Roger Gullett of North
Carolina and Randy Gullett of Lexington; and five
grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild..
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 15, at
Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Herb Arms and E.
J. Young officiating. Burial was in Highland
Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
