Midland News. Mr. Arthur McDonald was called to Memphis on account of the death of his brother, Fred McDonald.
Mrs. Floella Smith McDonough, daughter of the late W.O. Smith, Central City, Sunday, announced her candidacy for the Democratic nomination for Secretary of State at next year's primary. She lives at 1521 S. Fourth Street, Louisville.
James McGinley to be returned for trial. James McGinley, who was arrested in Beckley, W.Va., and who is being held for Muhlenberg County officers, will be returned to the county where he will face four feloney charges, two of schoolhouse breaking, and two of having stolen property in his possession.
McGinley is charged with the theft of seven typewriters, being taken from Hughes-Kirk and from the Bremen school. According to county officials, six of the machines were recovered.
McGinley will be returned to Muhlenberg County by Sheriff Peck O'Neill and Deputy Sheriff Rhode Kennedy.
Seriously ill. Miss Mae McNeil of Chicago, and Mrs. Bowling of Knoxville, Tenn., are at the bedside of their mother, Mrs. Rachel McNeil, who is seriously ill at her home in Center Street. Mr. Denman, of Columbus, Ohio, a son-in-law, is also at the bedside.
Ex-Police Chief Waives Trial
Greenville, Ky. - Paul McKnight, a former Central City police chief, waived his examining trial Friday in Muhlenberg County Quarterly Court. McKnight is charged with trafficking alcoholic beverages in dry territory.
McKnight, 52, was released from custody after posting a $300 bond.
County Judge Philip Stone referred the case to a Muhlenberg County Grand Jury, which will convene in March.
